August 5

Today we joined my friend Elise and her sweet girls Katie & Alli at the Philadelphia Zoo!

I love the tortoises... 

Jonah was so excited to be at the zoo!

Riley picked the giraffe car for his train ride today... I think after every animal we saw this morning he asked to see the giraffes next!

Elise took us to the fun playhouse that's behind the carousel that's only for zoo members - a great place to cool off for a few minutes!

More play time!

Apparently kicking the balloon tired him out...

Riley's latest obsession is using blocks to build roads, garages, gates and lots of other infrastructure for his cars.

August 3

When Abe is working from home, his phone will ring, we'll hear him say hello and then not much else. Abe likes to take his phone calls outside, so he's often wandering around the yard with a cup of coffee like this!

Jonah may have been slow to start talking, but he's a genius... see, he just wrote Riley's name!

Riley's getting in on the chalk action too.

If there were sound with this picture, you'd hear Jonah saying "O, o, o?" (Jonah-speak for "open").

August 2

We met up with some friends at a local playground this morning - we hadn't been to this playground in a while so it was new all over again!

(don't worry... he did sit before going down the slide!)

Riley got new goggles before his swim class today - he likes to practice wearing them in the tub!

We got peaches in our CSA delivery this week, and conveniently it was just enough to make two pies!

After dinner we headed outside to enjoy our patio... the boys took full advantage before we moved the furniture back to use it as a big space to drive their cars around.
